Sliding Fee Options
We hold several spots specifically for families experiencing financial hardship. Please let us know at scheduling if you need one of the sliding fee/financial hardship spots. We strongly believe that income should not be a barrier to understanding and supporting your child’s unique development and learning patterns. Below is an explanation of how we handle sliding fees in a way that allows for people who have limited access to financial resources to be able to receive quality educational consultation services.
Full Fee
The full fee is the actual cost of the services. This is for families who have enough money to meet their needs and can easily pay for wants as well. The full fees for services are listed at the end of each description on the Services page.
Discount Fee
The discount fee/sliding fee is for those who are able to meet their needs but have little-to-no expendable income. Paying for consultation services may qualify as a sacrifice but it would not create hardship. If you are struggling to conquer debt or build savings or move away from paycheck to paycheck living, but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc., this fee level is for you:
$565-$740 for Behavioral Consultation package
$565-$740 for Special Education Planning package
$340 - $445 for 504 Planning package
$115 - $150 per hour for à la carte educational consultation services
Hardship Fee
The serious hardship/sliding fee price is for those who struggle to meet basic needs (food/shelter/medical care, etc) and for whom paying for this service would be a significant hardship.
Currently, that is:
$220 - $390 for Behavioral Consultation package
$220 - $390 for Special Education Planning package
$135 - $235 for 504 Planning package
$50 - $80 per hour for à la carte educational consultation services
As a note:
Comprehensive developmental and learning assessments are available at no cost through your public school district and may be a helpful option for some families. For infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children, referrals can be made at Help Me Grow Minnesota. For school-aged children, you may contact your child’s teacher or school administrator directly to request an evaluation.
